Author Appearances!
Interested in having me visit your school, festival, conference or bookstore? I'd love to! I was a National Board Certified teacher for thirteen years before becoming an author, and I've taken that passion and enthusiasm with me. I've been lucky to have visited cities and schools all over this country (and even internationally!), presenting to audiences from kindergarten to adult.

​For school visits, I offer a range of engaging, dynamic programs for a variety of ages. My multimedia presentations cover the importance of working hard, not giving up, and kindness. I share a strong anti-bullying message, and talk about growth mindset and developing a love for reading. I also offer a variety of small group writing workshops, including a workshop that teaches the writing process through writing haiku poems, a “Story Recipe” workshop that teaches plot construction, and a “Story Makers” workshop that takes each participant through the process of crafting their own story from brainstorming to drafting.

I also love attending conferences and festivals, and teaching writing workshops to adult writers. I've taught workshops with several different regional SCBWI conferences and events (I'm an enthusiastic member!), and participated in writing mentorship programs as well.
